Private Agricultural Pesticide Applicator Trainings Scheduled

Private Pesticide Applicator Training (PAT) sessions have been scheduled for St. Croix County in 2019.  Sessions are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude around 3:30 p.m.  Trainings are scheduled for:

  • January 8 and February 5
    • Croix County Ag Service and Education Center, 1960 8th Avenue, Baldwin

You also have the option to take the exam self-study any time by making an appointment with the UW-Extension office nearest you.

Private Pesticide Applicator Training is designed for those individuals engaged in agriculture and planning to purchase restricted use pesticides.  An open book exam is administered, and to be certified, participants need 50% correct when attending a training session and 70% for self-study.  You must attend the whole session to qualify for 50% grading.  Cell phones must be turned off during testing, so please bring a pocket calculator for the exam.

Wisconsin now requires that any person taking a certification exam must provide positive identification (a driver’s license is most common) and their social security number. You must bring this identification to the training session. Other acceptable forms of ID are: 1. A photo ID 2. Birth Certificate plus another form of ID 3. Social Security Number.

Individuals are asked to pre-register and pick up materials at their Extension office. It is recommended materials be picked up one week before the session in order to prepare.  Cost is $40 per person.
